Popular social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has responded after a Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, issued a bench warrant for his arrest over alleged criminal defamation against gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.

According to DAILY POST, Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna issued the arrest warrant on Thursday, March 13, 2025, after VDM failed to appear in court despite a summons issued on March 5, 2025.

Reacting via his Instagram story, VDM, who is currently abroad, dared security agencies to arrest him upon his return to Nigeria.

In a bold statement written in Pidgin English, he boasted about being familiar with arrests:

"I dey come Naija very soon, make una ready to arrest me for airport. Arrest no be new thing for the Ratel na."
