Renowned Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has shared how a recent emergency surgery affected her confidence and body perception.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the screendiva reflected on her journey, revealing that the surgery left her with visible scars.
DAILY POST recalls that in November 2024, Omotola bravely spoke about her battle with a life-threatening illness, which ultimately led to an emergency gallbladder removal surgery.
In a heartfelt video, she candidly admitted that while her tummy was once one of her favorite features, the surgery changed its appearance. However, she refused to let it shake her confidence.
"Late last year, I had emergency surgery. My tummy used to be one of my best features, but it’s not as perfect now," she said.
She further shared how, during a photoshoot, she instinctively grabbed her top, only to hear a little voice in her head say, “There’s nothing to show anymore.” But instead of dwelling on it, she chose empowerment over insecurity.
"Not me! What will shake my confidence has not been created. I smiled and danced. I’m alive, and it’s just scars. Some people carry physical scars, while others carry emotional ones," she added.
Omotola’s inspiring message serves as a reminder that true confidence comes from within, and scars—whether seen or unseen—are simply marks of survival and strength.
