Olumide Ogunade, a seasoned music producer and singer better known by his stage name ID Cabasa, has finally revealed the reasons why he and former signee Abolore Akande, also known as 9ice, had a falling out.
Cabasa said that 9ice was upset by his choice to continue working with his ex-wife, Toni Seun Payne, in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
According to The Daily Post, Payne oversaw artists for Cabasa's Coded Tunes Record, a company that also signed singer Olamide and rapper 9ice.
After the couple split up, Cabasa chose to keep working with Payne, which 9ice found disappointing.
Cabasa has disclosed his reasoning for keeping Payne on his team.
The producer claims that he did it for Zion, 9ice and Payne's son, who was born in 2008.
When I started pushing Olamide, you probably noticed that I had Toni Payne with me, he said. Ice was upset, but he was baffled as to why I had brought her in. I brought her in because I needed to keep Payne and her son, Zion, close to home. I felt 9ice may never see his son again if she takes Zion abroad.”
