Cole recently responded to Kendrick Lamar's diss against him and Drake on Future and Metro Boomin’s new track, 'Like That.' Lamar took a jab at Drake and J. Cole, claiming he is the only big rapper despite assumptions that the three are the biggest in the US.

In J. Cole's surprise project 'Might Delete Later,' released at midnight, he fired back at Lamar in a track titled '7 Minute Drill.' Cole suggested that Lamar had a promising start as a rapper but has now "fallen off."

"I received a call about someone throwing shade...He's fallen off like the Simpsons...
Your first work was classic, your recent work was tragic...
Your second work put people to sleep but they hyped it...
Your third work was a massive hit, that was your peak...
I was trailing behind, but I've just hit mine," he raps.

The response by J. Cole highlights the ongoing tension between the two prominent rappers and has sparked discussions among fans and the hip-hop community.
