The deadly terrorist group; Boko Haram fighters have abducted staff of United Nations (UN) along Damaturu - Maiduguri road Born state.



Held captive is Abubakar Gaba Idris, aka Alooma, a senior protection Assistant with UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The terrorist ambushed vehicles conveying commuters near Matari village between Minok Jakana Highway.

One of them, Alooma was seized around 8.30.a.m on Saturday.

Report has it that they were in military uniform, mounted a roadblock with three Hilux pickup trucks and motorcycles while searching the passengers, Idris attempted to throw away his ID card but one of the insurgents sights him. He was then asked to step down from the vehicle along with two other passengers, while the rest of the passengers were asked to continue with their journey.

The two passengers were later released on the ground that they are poor people and have no use to the abducted.
