Yesterday in Niger state isolation centre some suspected COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at a government facility in Minna, the state capital, threatened to discharge themselves over poor treatment.

In a video going viral online, some of the patients expressed anger at the situation, saying they were not comfortable with their feeding arrangement.

They however, requested to be allowed to be in their homes instead of being left to die of hunger at the isolation facility.

Meanwhile, there is tension in the state over the purported escape of a woman from an isolation centre.

It will be recalled that some covid19 patients protested in Gombe state due to poor treatment too.

Irua is specially prepared to handle infectious diseases. “What we have done today was to build a world class centre at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba to handle any possible outbreak of Covid19. That centre was approved and designed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). “As for the isolation centre at the Warri Central Hospital, we have identified the space and in two days time it is going to be ready with the state of the art facilities. “Some people are just been mischievous because I can tell you that the kind of personnel we have in our hospitals, you cannot find them anywhere. Most of the doctors you see outside are our doctors. “Warri Central Hospital has the best doctors in the country. The place is very neat and the environment is conducive. All patient that come here receive the best treatment. “People should appreciate the effort of government. People should not be mischievous all in a bid run down government efforts.

The popular Nigerian Pastor, Prophet T. B. Joshua has declared that he his ready to virtually pray for COVID-19 patients in isolation centres in Nigeria and other countries.

In an announcement on Tuesday, Joshua called on government and medical authorities to “organize those who are in isolation” and “arrange how to connect them to us”.

The cleric noted that “the blessing of Jesus is for those who knock and ask”.

He told everyone that in whatever way they support to make the intercession happen, “we are a team; we are not doing more than you”.

The leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) added: “Together we shall pray for them. Together we shall be set free from this COVID-19.”

Stressing that those infected need prayers, Joshua recalled the Bible scripture where Jesus healed all who had various sicknesses.

“The same anointing that heals one is also able to heal all at the same time,” he added.

Coronavirus has infected nearly 12 million people and caused more than 545,000 deaths.
