Kenneth Okonkwo, a spokesperson for Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) presidential candidate in the February 25 presidential election, asserted that his group exposed the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) electoral fraud in Nkanu East Local Government Area during the Enugu State governorship.

The assertion was made by Okonkwo in a post on his Twitter account on Monday.

Recall that on Monday, the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, suspended the state's governorship election.

A number of complaints of irregularities from both parties prompted INEC to announce that the commission would review the collation of results from Nkanu East and Nsukka LGs.

The veteran Nollywood actor, however, claimed that by faking the Nkanu East election results, the PDP engaged in electoral fraud.

He noted that while there were 27,594 Permanent Voters' Cards, or PVCs, collected, there were 36,976 total registered voters in Nkanu East. Whereas the PDP announced 30,560 as its candidate’s votes, when the number of voters accredited by BVAS was 7,453.

He, therefore, urged the INEC to immediately declare Chijioke Edeoga the winner, since the margin of victory for the LP’s candidate was bigger than the number of people that were accredited to vote in Nkanu East.

He wrote, “THE PDP ELECTORAL FRAUD IN ENUGU STATE UNCOVERED IN NKANU EAST

Total Number of Registered Voters—-36,976

Total number of PVC collected: 27,594.

Votes cast by the PDP: 30,560

Number of voters accredited by BVAS: 7,453.

Going by the above, the margin of victory for Chijioke Edeoga is larger than the number of people who were accredited to vote in Nkanu East.

“INEC should immediately declare Chijioke Edeoga as the winner and return him to office as the next governor of Enugu State.”
