To support the work of other security agencies fighting kidnapping, armed robbery, and other related crimes in the state, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has begun training 7,000 recruits for the Kaduna Vigilance Service.

The governor explained that the 7,000 recruits coming from the state's 23 local government areas were being trained at the Police College in Kaduna, the state capital.

He claimed that the recruits would support the efforts of security agencies to clean up the state of crimes after their rigorous and in-depth training.

The governor said, “The Kaduna Vigilance Service is a complementary security outfit. It will provide the security agencies with actionable intelligence. With its knowledge of the local environment, bandits will have no hiding place.”

According to the governor, the recruitment became necessary following the shortfall of regular security operatives across the state, saying that the commencement of the training was a major step towards fulfilling his promise to the Kaduna people.
