Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, an All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in Kano, emphasized that Allah controls his fate as he voted at his Gawuna Polling Unit.
With a strong security presence, Gawuna, who cast his ballot alongside hundreds of other voters, expressed his confidence that the elections would be free and fair.
“Power comes from God, as I always said, and I’m not worried at all because I know God has already destined who is going to win this contest,” he said.
Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna said that the high voter turnout is also a source of pride because, as of 8 a.m., Kano's polling places were reportedly almost entirely occupied by voters.
The APC candidate also praised INEC for its early planning and prompt delivery of election materials.
