As predicted by some political analysts, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, Mary Elizabeth Truss, has now been elected as the new UK Prime Minister.
The South West Norfolk MP, who has been in Parliament since May 2010, takes over from Boris Johnson, becoming Conservatives Party's fourth PM since the 2015 election.
Truss, 47, is the third female to be UK Prime Minister after "Iron Lady" Margaret Hilda Thatcher and later Theresa Mary May.
She defeated former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak to attain the feat with over 20 thousand votes.
