The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended two suspects involved in the unlawful printing and sale of fake motor vehicle stickers to unsuspecting motorists.

The arrest followed a formal complaint from the Niger State Internal Revenue Service Board (NGSIRSB), alerting authorities to fraudulent activities affecting state revenue.

Key Suspects Arrested

NSCDC Deputy Public Relations Officer, ASC Ibrahim Yabagi, revealed in Minna that the prime suspect, Ahmad Obodo, a 39-year-old professional printer from Kwale, Delta State, had been under surveillance since 2024.

“After months of intelligence gathering, tracking, and surveillance, Obodo was arrested for deceiving motorists and diverting government revenue for personal gain,” Yabagi stated.

Further investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, Umar Aliyu Babangida, who is now in NSCDC custody for interrogation.

Meanwhile, a third suspect, known as Noma, remains at large and is believed to be hiding in the Kontagora area. Authorities are actively working to track him down.

NSCDC’s Commitment to Law and Order

The Niger State NSCDC Commandant, Abdullahi Adamu Kambra, reaffirmed the corps' commitment to protecting public resources, upholding law and order, and tackling fraudulent activities that threaten the state's economic stability.

The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to unauthorized vehicle documentation to the appropriate authorities.
