A group of traditional healers and spiritual practitioners in Anambra State, known as Ndi Dibia and Ezenwanyi, has strongly condemned what they describe as targeted oppression by the state government.

The indigenous doctors claim that Governor Charles Soludo’s administration is unfairly using Agunaechemba security forces to suppress their practices, violating their constitutional rights to religious and cultural freedom.

Healers from across the state gathered in a powerful demonstration, performing rituals and prayers in defiance of what they call systematic stigmatization. They argue that the government’s actions are discriminatory, portraying them unfairly as criminals or secret cult members.

Speaking from an undisclosed location, the group’s leader, High Priest Ikele, accused the Soludo-led administration of bias. “We are not lawbreakers; we are the custodians of our people’s health and spiritual well-being. Our practices are ancient traditions passed down through generations, and we will not be silenced,” he declared.

In a bold move, the healers have vowed to continue their spiritual work despite government pressure. They also issued a political warning—promising to mobilize against Governor Soludo’s re-election bid in the upcoming November 8, 2025 polls.

As tensions rise, the fate of traditional spiritual practices in Anambra remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: Ndi Dibia and Ezenwanyi are standing their ground.
