In a disturbing incident in Alihame, Agbor, located in the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, a suspected kidnapper faced a horrific fate as a mob set him ablaze.
The unsettling event unfolded when members of the Alihame Vigilante Group (AVG) apprehended approximately nine individuals suspected of being kidnappers. The capture took place at an uncompleted building near the Oriri axis, Agbor-Obi, in response to a distress call from a concerned resident in the area on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
The vigilante group swiftly acted upon the distress call, leading to the arrest of the suspects at Board Road, Alihame. The AVG promptly alerted the local police, and as the suspects were being transported to the station, the situation took a grim turn.
A member of the mob managed to seize one of the suspected kidnappers, dragging him out of the police van. In the ensuing chaos, the individual fell and struck his head on the tarred road, resulting in a profuse flow of blood. The mob, taking matters into their own hands, descended on the fallen suspect, setting him ablaze before the AVG and police could intervene.
