The arrest was confirmed in a statement released by the state's Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Sunday. The statement revealed that the command received a distress call on January 21 at around 8:30 am, reporting a violent altercation between two employees of Fas Agro Sacks Company, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Tukur Adamu.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel, has assured the public of a thorough investigation and the prosecution of the suspect. The statement emphasized the need for the people of the state to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

"On the 21st January 2024, at about 08:30 am, a distress call was received through the Command’s emergency number; 08032419754, that fighting erupted between two staff of Fas Agro Sacks Company located at Sharada Ja’in Quarters Kano, which led to the death of one Tukur Adamu, 32," the statement read.

The situation was swiftly brought under control, and both the suspect, James Isma’il, and thirteen other individuals involved were transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, for thorough investigation.

Upon arrival at the scene, the deceased's body was promptly taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where a medical doctor confirmed the unfortunate demise of Tukur Adamu.
