In Stavropol, southwestern Russia, two women have been detained on suspicion of brutally beating and killing a man after he refused their request for a party in a cemetery.
The women, identified as Rosa, 29, and Martha, 37, were drinking with 63-year-old Alexander in a churchyard. Local reports indicate that the women allegedly attacked Alexander after he declined their request for sex. According to police reports, the women unleashed a series of kicks and punches on him, leading to his death.
The women then dragged Alexander's body into a forest and hid it in a hole. The body was later discovered, leading to their detention and the opening of a murder investigation. Footage shows officers from Russia’s Investigative Committee escorting one of the women to the crime scene, carrying a dummy to reenact the crime. The woman is seen placing her feet on the dummy's torso, mimicking the attack.
A statement from the Investigative Committee detailed the attack, stating: "In the course of an argument, the women gave the 63-year-old man multiple blows with their fists and feet to his head and torso. The victim died at the scene as a result of his injuries. Wishing to avoid responsibility for the offence, the accused dragged the body of the deceased to a wooded area and hid it in a hole."
The two women have been remanded in custody for two months as the investigation continues.
