Kamar Abdulkadir, a respected lecturer in the Department of Physical and Health Education at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), has been brutally murdered. The identity of the perpetrators remains unknown as investigations into the heinous crime continue.


Reports indicate that the gruesome attack occurred within Abdulkadir's office, where he met his untimely demise on Sunday. According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants, yet to be identified, entered his office and launched a savage assault using a knife and hammer.


The disturbing details of the incident were disclosed by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, who shared the harrowing news on social media. Makama revealed that Abdulkadir was discovered lifeless in his office, bearing multiple injuries inflicted by his assailants.


Tragically, not content with taking a life, the perpetrators also made off with Abdulkadir's vehicle and other valuable possessions. Makama's account of the incident paints a chilling picture of the brutality inflicted upon the victim, stating, "His hands were peeled off when he tried to stop the attackers from stabbing him. They also used a hammer to smash his head and his spinal cord, killing him instantly."


The loss of Dr. Kamar Abdulkadir has sent shockwaves through the University of Maiduguri community and beyond. As authorities work tirelessly to apprehend those responsible for this senseless act of violence, the need for heightened security measures within educational institutions and the broader community has become increasingly apparent.
