The possibility of Manchester United ever signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong is starting to fade.
The Red Devils are reportedly all but out of the running to sign the highly regarded Dutch international, according to a recent report from Mail+.
It is no secret that De Jong has been Erik ten Hag's top priority since taking over at Manchester United, but despite weeks of back-and-forth negotiations, a deal to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford is now farther away than it has ever been.
Although the midfielder's future at the Nou Camp is still in question, Todd Boehly's Chelsea are in the best position to bring him to England's top division.
