Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has urged manager Jurgen Klopp to bench the team's struggling forward Mohamed Salah.
Salah has been a shell of himself thus far this season after scoring 31 goals for Liverpool in all competitions last year.
In 12 appearances for Jurgen Klopp's team in all competitions, the Egyptian captain has contributed just five goals and four assists.
In his column for the Liverpool Echo, Aldridge wants Salah to be left out of the first team because he is not doing himself or the team justice.
“I am one of Mo Salah’s biggest fans, but he needs to be dropped." He needs to be left out because he is not doing himself justice, and he is not doing the team justice.
“It doesn’t matter whether you are Mo Salah, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. At that stage, you have got to be left out for your own good. "
He added, “Whether Klopp can actually do that now that Diaz is injured, I don’t know." Mo’s not the only one, don’t get me wrong. There are so many players below form and they have been for a while.
“The manager’s trying to get them to play through it. He is very loyal, but he doesn’t really have many alternatives. "
Liverpool are currently in 10th position in the Premier League table with 10 points from eight games.
