Former Liverpool man John Barnes has said that Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United has not affected the Red Devils badly.
Manchester United comfortably won their last Premier League game against Nottingham Forest this week with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Fred getting on the scoresheet.
Ronaldo, who netted 24 goals in all competitions for the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick last season, left the club last month after his contract was terminated.
Manchester United sit fifth in the table, but are just one point behind Spurs and have a game in hand.
And Barnes believes that the Red Devils have improved since Ronaldo’s exit, increasing their chances of finishing in the top four.
“Man Utd have done really well since getting rid of Cristiano Ronaldo. "I think they’re a bit more confident, but I still think they’re going to be inconsistent.”
