John Barnes, a former Liverpool player, believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will benefit the Blues if he eventually signs with Chelsea.
This summer, Chelsea is interested in acquiring Aubameyang from Barcelona.
The former captain of Arsenal was coached by Thomas Tuchel, the current manager of Chelsea, while they were teammates at Dortmund.
The Gabonese star, who joined Camp Nou from Arsenal last season and scored 13 goals in 24 games for the club, is reportedly close to a deal with Chelsea and Barcelona.
However, Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski was recently acquired by Barcelona. As a result, Aubameyang's tenure as manager and Xavi's starting lineup may be limited going forward.
Barcelona is also looking to offload players to make room on the payroll for their five key new additions. A move for Aubameyang is therefore likely.
Barnes stated to BonusCodeBets regarding rumors linking Aubameyang to a transfer to Chelsea: "A fully focused and committed Aubameyang would be a plus for them [Chelsea]."
It depends on his attitude. You saw the attitude at Arsenal, and obviously, at Barcelona. I don’t know what is going on. "
He added, “You see Sterling play up front sometimes and Havertz." They haven’t got that focal point, and I think that focal point, because of the way Tuchel wants to play, would be much more direct and quick and mobile than a Lukaku.
