Even though his team has won all nine of its games in the Nigeria Premier Football League, Monday Odigie, the head coach of Bendel Insurance, has rejected claims that his team is now the favorite to win the championship.
In order to maintain their unbeaten streak, Insurance defeated Enyimba 1-0 on Sunday night in Benin City.
The only NPFL team that has not yet suffered a loss this year is Odigie's squad.
The coach emphasized that his team still has a lot of work to do before the season is over.
“We still have more games to play in the second half of the season,” Odigie told reporters after the game against Enyimba.
“Winning the league isn’t our priority, as we want to focus more on maintaining a high level of performance in our remaining fixtures."
