The 2018 world cup has been full of surprises and expected country are performing below expectation.

Group D which consist of Croatia, Nigeria, Argentina and Iceland, stands as one of the difficult group in the world cup. Before the start of the world cup, football pundits believed Argentina had better chance in the group and they would top the group, leaving Nigeria and Croatia to battle for second place. Iceland was technically written of.

After the first round of and towards the end of the second round of games played. The prediction is far from being correct, as Croatia is currently leading group D and they're 90% through to the second round. Nigeria and Argentina both had a slow start and it's getting worse for the Argentine team, as they lost their second game with a 3-0 margin when they played Croatia on Thursday night. This is an advantage for Nigeria who lost their first game against Croatia.

On the standing table of group D is Croatia sitting at the top spot with 6 points, Iceland in the second spot with 1pts, Argentina with 1pts too at spot 3, goal difference made them fall below Iceland. Nigeria is placed last on the table with 0pts. There is still possibility for either Nigeria or Argentina to qualify, but this is depending on how each team male use of their chances.

For Argentina to qualify, Nigeria must either draw their second game against Iceland, which is the best choice. If either Iceland or Nigeria wins, Argentina will be left with the option of a must win game against Nigeria, while they'll expect Croatia to beat Iceland or draw.

For Nigeria to qualify, they are expected to beat Iceland and also win the last game against Argentina or draw, if drawn, they'll be expecting Croatia to beat Iceland. On the contrary if Nigeria draw their match against Iceland, they'll be expecting a must win game against Argentina. Nigeria will be facing Iceland by 4pm Nigerian time.
