After leading the Super Eagles in their friendly match against Costa Rica on Thursday morning, Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole is unable to contain his excitement.
The young goalkeeper unexpectedly received the captain's armband for the match at San Jose's National Stadium, and he set an excellent example by making a number of outstanding saves despite the Super Eagles suffering a 2-0 loss.
Even though they were defeated, the Super Eagles' backup team played well.
Bankole was replaced by Nathaniel Nwosu 13 minutes from time.
The 20-year-old took to social media to celebrate his captaincy.
“A good learning curve vs. Costa Rica for the team." happy to have captained the Super Eagles B.
#Impossible is nothing
"#OnlyGod,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.
