The Nigerian goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, has been linked with a return to his former club, Chippa United.

Akpeyi was released by South African Premier League club Kaizer Chiefs at the end of his contract in June.

The 36-year-old has been training on his own under the watchful eye of former Nigeria international goalkeeper, Greg Etafia.

Akpeyi spent four years with Chippa United before linking up with Kaizer Chiefs.

The shot-stopper joined the Chili Boys from the Nigerian Professional Football League outfit, Warri Wolves, in 2015.

According to the South African news hub, Soccerladuma, Orlando Pirates, and Sekhukhune United are among the clubs interested in Akpeyi.

He has a permanent residency permit and will be able to join a new club as a local.
