Nigeria's star striker, Victor Osimhen, faced a setback as he was unable to travel to Bouaké today due to abdominal discomfort.

The Super Eagles confirmed the unfortunate development on their official social media platform, stating:

"Members of the team traveled from Abidjan to Bouaké today via a 10 pm Air Cote D’Ivoire flight. Osimhen did not, however, make the trip due to an abdominal discomfort. Team medics have confirmed that he is under close observation, with a member of the medical team staying behind in Abidjan with him. If cleared by tomorrow morning, he will join the rest of the squad before 5 pm."

Popular sports photographer Pooja also shared the news, saying:

"Just in; Victor Osimhen will not fly with the team to Bouaké tonight at 10 pm due to abdominal discomfort. Team medics confirmed that he has been placed under close watch, with a member of the medical team staying behind in Abidjan with him. If cleared by tomorrow morning, he will join the rest of the squad before 5 pm."

This setback comes at a crucial time for the Super Eagles, who recently secured a spot in the AFCON semifinals after a decisive 1-0 victory over Angola in the quarterfinals. The team is set to face Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the upcoming semifinal match. The absence of Victor Osimhen, a key player, adds an element of uncertainty to the team's lineup. The entire nation awaits further updates on Osimhen's condition and hopes for his swift recovery to contribute to the team's success in the tournament.
