In his explosive interview with British veteran journalist Piers Morgan, forward Cristiano Ronaldo took a shot at Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.
Rio Ferdinand responded.
Ronaldo was criticized by Rooney for his misbehavior at Manchester United and it was suggested that the Red Devils would be better off without him.
However, Ronaldo responded to Rooney’s comments and said in a recent interview with Morgan, “I don’t know why he criticizes me so badly... probably because he finished his career and I’m still playing at a high level. I’m not going to say that I’m looking better than him. Which is true…”
But Ferdinand, who has played alongside Ronaldo and Rooney, believes that the recent episode between the two Man United legends could have been avoided.
According to him, he doesn’t think they will be sending each other any Christmas cards.
“Wazza’s come out and said a few things about Ronaldo, which is well within his rights. "But Cristiano’s taken offense to it and mentioned him in the interview,” Ferdinand said on the Vibe with Five YouTube channel.
Ferdinand added, “As mates, you want to see that done behind closed doors, you know what I mean?" "It is what it is now between them two, and I don’t think they will be sending each other any Christmas cards.”
