Barcelona ace Gavi has taken a decision on his speculated move to Chelsea.
The Spain international has been strongly linked with a summer switch to Stamford Bridge.
However, the Barcelona ace has no desire to leave the Catalans, according to Diario AS.
Spanish outlet Diario AS reports that the Blues have held talks with the Spain midfielder’s representatives over a possible move to the West London side in the summer.
Reports in Spain say that the 18-year-old midfielder was annoyed with the Catalan giants over their failure to register him as a first-team player in January.
Spanish journalist Sique Rodriguez, however, shot down the reports, claiming that while Gavi could leave Barcelona if he remains unregistered, he has no intention of leaving voluntarily.
La Masia graduate Gavi played his very first game in La Liga in the 2021–22 season under former coach Ronald Koeman and has since become an integral part of Xavi Hernandez’s side.
In September 2022, Gavi signed a new contract with Barcelona, but the deal did not go through due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions.
In January, the Blaugrana obtained a precautionary measure from the court to register Gavi as a first-team player, giving him the No. 6 jersey.
His registration was overturned shortly after, as it was determined that Xavi’s side failed to file the paperwork before the transfer window closed on January 31.
The youngster is currently registered as a youth team player at Camp Nou, a situation that does not go down well with him, and he would become a free agent in the summer.
