Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that top defender Marcos Alonso will depart from Barcelona this summer.

Romano announced via his Twitter handle on Monday that Alonso's decision to leave Barcelona as a free agent has been finalized.

According to Romano's tweet, "Marcos Alonso will leave Barcelona as a free agent at the end of the current season. There's a huge respect between the club and the player, but he's set to depart in June, the decision has been made."
Romano also mentioned, "Sergi Roberto could also depart for free, but the final decision will depend on Xavi's future."

Alonso, who joined Barcelona from Chelsea in 2022, is expected to move on at the end of the season.
