Bankole Olowookere, the head coach of the Nigerian Flamingos, has selected a team of 21 female players for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
Alvine Dah-Zossu, the team captain, Taiwo Afolabi, and leading scorer Opeyemi Ajakaye are a few of the regulars who make the team.
Additionally, the squad features first-choice goalkeeper Faith Omilana, defenders Comfort Folorunsho, Blessing Sunday, and Miracle Usani, midfielders Blessing Emmanuel and Chidera Okenwa, forwards Omowunmi Bello and Yetunde Ayantosho, and goalkeepers Blessing Emmanuel and Chidera Okenwa.
Next Monday, the players and their representatives will leave Nigeria for a 10-day training camp in Turkey.
On October 6, they will fly from Istanbul to India.
On Tuesday, October 11, at Goa, Nigeria will play its opening match of the season against Germany. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. India time (4 p.m. Nigeria time).
After playing New Zealand on Friday, October 14, also in Goa, the Flamingos will travel to Bhubaneswar to play Chile on Monday, October 17.
