it was an epic final yesterday in the U.S Open men's single final as the winner needed to come back from 2 set defeat to win the match which happened for the first time in the history of tennis. Dominic Thiem defeats Alexander Zverev in epic men's final

Thiem gives men's tennis its first new Grand Slam champion in six years after epic encounter lasting four hours and two minutes. He joins Thomas Muster as the only Austrian to win a major title.

Dominic Thiem staged a remarkable comeback to seal his first Grand Slam title at the fourth attempt as he battled back from two sets down to defeat Alexander Zverev 2-6 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-6 (8-6) in the final of the US Open on Sunday.

Thiem could barely walk but he finally grabbed the chance to step out of the shadows of his illustrious contemporaries to claim his maiden Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows.

tennis now has a new Grand Slam champion in Thiem for the first time since Marin Cilic clinched the title here in 2014.

Though it seem the action was unintentional however the penalty for the action is intentional as the World Number 1, Novak Djokovic who was earlier disqualified from the US Open 2020 after he unconsciously hit a ball at the line judge.

The incident happened in the Round-of-16 tie, while trailing 5-6 to opponent and eventual beneficiary, Pablo Carreño Busta.

The 33-year-old top seed headed straight for his car afterwards.

Pablo Busta's reaction:

"I was celebrating the break with my coach," he told reporters.

"When I heard that the line judge was on the floor I was in shock. I never expected this moment when playing Novak.

Carreno Busta added that the incident was "unintentional."

"I think it was bad luck," he said.

The 3 times champion; Andy Murray's US Open dreams came to a pitiable end as exciting 20 yer old Canadian prospect Felix Auger-Aliassime claimed a convincing straight-sets win in the early hours of Friday morning.

Murray headed into his second-round encounter having endured a marathon five-set win over Yoshihito Nishioka, in his first Grand Slam singles match since career-saving hip surgery 20 months ago. The game ended 6-2 6-3 6-4 to Felix Auger-Aliassime

The writing was on the wall for the three-time Grand Slam champion against a player 13 years his junior from the very start as Auger-Aliassime struck 24 aces and 52 winners on his way to victory with Murray failing to create a single break point opportunity in the entire match.

"It's an amazing feeling. I wish the fans were here," said Auger-Aliassime. "Life is funny, I came here as a kid in 2011 and it's crazy that nine years later I'm here getting the win.

"I think it's all come together. We've been away from tennis for five months and I've been working on my serve. Even with nerves I was able to serve well.

"But in the back of your mind you know you are facing Andy Murray. You never know what tricks he's got in his pocket. To close it out is not easy. You're facing a great champion."

The youngest winner of US open, Naomi Osaka, age 20, ha credited her US open win to Nicki Minaj's Queen album and Eminem's surprised album, Kamikaze. 

She said these two albums were the albums she most listened to during the tournament. She claimed she's a fan of hip hop rap.

In her interview PEOPLE magazine, she said "I listen to Nicki minaj's Queen album, and then, Eminem dropped a new album, so I was switching between those two"

Osaka, Japanese born defeated her idol, Serena Williams in the US open final to clinch her first US open title at age 20.
