Marcus Rashford, an English striker, asserted that after making it to the Round of 16, his team would perform even better in the knockout round.
After helping England defeat Wales 3-0 on Tuesday in the World Cup, Rashford made this statement.
Recall that two goals from Rashford and one from Phil Foden helped England defeat Wales in their final Group B match.
England will now face Senegal in the last-16 on Sunday.
“Moments like this, this is what I play football for—the biggest moments, the best moments,” Rashford told the BBC.
“I’m really happy today. I’m really happy that we’re going through to the next round of the tournament."
“Hopefully, we can build on this performance because I still have massive ambitions for this team and I think we can play even better than what we showed tonight.”
