After it was announced that he would not compete in the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to injury, Senegal forward Sadio Mane has finally spoken out.
Mane has been disqualified from competing in this year's World Cup in Qatar because he was unable to fully recover from an injury.
Earlier this month, during Bayern Munich's 6-1 victory over Werder Bremen, the star player suffered a knee injury.
Mane expressed his thoughts on the situation in a post on Sunday via his Twitter account, thanking God that the procedure he had was successful.
Thank God the midweek operation went smoothly, the former Liverpool star wrote. I want to use this chance to express my gratitude and say thank you to everyone.
"Our beloved nation will compete in the Qatar 2022 World Cup on Monday." I have no doubt that the Lions will rise above themselves and treat every game like a genuine championship.
“I am also convinced that all Senegalese will be in front of the small screen to support and encourage our valiant national team.”
Senegal is in Group A alongside Ecuador, the Netherlands, and Qatar.
