In separate interviews with Black Entertainment Television at the BET Awards on Sunday, the duo talked up afrobeats as they expressed love and admiration for two of the poster-stars of the genre: Burna Boy and Tems.
Bow Wow said he loves the vibe of afrobeats and how ladles dance to afrobeats songs.
He said, “Anytime the ladies move to the [afrobeats] songs, they are lit. I love the vibe. For me, I love my afrobeats when I’m like on the yatch and it’s like 7:30 p.m. and the sun sets. I just love it. I like Burna Boy’s new record.”
On his part, Ja Rule said that when he listens to Afrobeats music, he feels at home.
Ja Rule said, “I love Tems, I love Burna Boy. For me, it [afrobeats] feels good. When I listen to the music, it feels like home.”
