The duo of American hip-hop stars Bow Wow and Ja Rule have spoken about their love for the raving Nigerian/West African music genre, afrobeats.



In separate interviews with Black Entertainment Television at the BET Awards on Sunday, the duo talked up afrobeats as they expressed love and admiration for two of the poster-stars of the genre: Burna Boy and Tems.

Bow Wow said he loves the vibe of afrobeats and how ladles dance to afrobeats songs.

He said, “Anytime the ladies move to the [afrobeats] songs, they are lit. I love the vibe. For me, I love my afrobeats when I’m like on the yatch and it’s like 7:30 p.m. and the sun sets. I just love it. I like Burna Boy’s new record.”
On his part, Ja Rule said that when he listens to Afrobeats music, he feels at home.
Ja Rule said, “I love Tems, I love Burna Boy. For me, it [afrobeats] feels good. When I listen to the music, it feels like home.”
