A 27-year-old man named Uwadiae Airebiuwa has been apprehended in Edo State after authorities discovered a freshly severed human head that he was attempting to hide in a plastic bag.
The arrest took place on Friday, March 7, in the Evbuotubu Quarters of Benin City. Local vigilantes worked in conjunction with the Evbuotubu Division of the police to secure the suspect's capture along Igbinudu Street.
According to a statement released by the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, CSP Moses Yamu, the arrest followed a thorough interrogation of Airebiuwa. During this questioning, he revealed the location of the crime scene, leading law enforcement officers to a particularly gruesome discovery—a decapitated body of a man found near the Eweka Shopping Plaza.

The victim has been identified as Edobor Lawrence, a 43-year-old resident of No. 1 Osagie Street, also located in Evbuotubu Quarters. His family confirmed his identity, underscoring the tragic nature of the incident. Following the discovery, the remains of Lawrence were transported to a medical facility for preservation while investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing.
