Gallant troops of the Nigerian Army have dealt a major blow to insurgents, neutralizing multiple terrorists and seizing a cache of deadly weapons across various states in the country.
Troops Launch Ruthless Attack on Terrorists in Borno
In a statement shared on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and WhatsApp, the Nigerian Army revealed that on Saturday, March 1, 2025, soldiers deployed in Bama Local Government Area, Borno State, executed a coordinated assault on a heavily fortified terrorist hideout. The attack followed credible intelligence that insurgents were regrouping to unleash terror on villages around Garin Fallujah.
During the operation, the troops overpowered the terrorists and recovered:
✅ 11 Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) bombs
✅ 760 rounds of 7.62mm linked ammunition
✅ 220 rounds of 12.7mm linked ammunition
✅ One AK-47 rifle
✅ 440 rounds of 7.62mm x 54mm ammunition
Additionally, a clearance operation in Unguwan Abdullahi, a known terrorist stronghold, led to the destruction of insurgents' hideouts and the discovery of stockpiled food supplies buried underground—cutting off their critical sustenance.
Blistering Firefight Leads to the Death of Notorious Terrorist Commander
As troops advanced toward Garin Fallujah, they engaged in an intense firefight, forcing the terrorists into a disorganized retreat. Among those neutralized was Abba Alai (Amirul Khahid of Alafa)—a high-value target long on the security watchlist.
Recovered items from the battlefield include:

🔹 One AK-47 magazine
🔹 23 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition
Heavy Weaponry Captured in Ukuba Forest
In another decisive operation in Ukuba Forest, troops seized a terrifying stockpile of military-grade weapons, including:
🔸 Two General-Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG)
🔸 Mowag armored tank engine
🔸 Heavy-duty vehicle engine block with components
Troops Neutralize Terrorists in Zamfara & Rescue Captives in Kwara
Meanwhile, in Zamfara State, soldiers ambushed a terrorist group, neutralizing one while the rest fled, leaving behind two motorcycles.
In Kwara State's Baruten Local Government Area, troops stormed a kidnappers’ hideout in Karunji village, forcing the criminals to abandon their captives and flee. The rescue mission led to the recovery of:
✔️ One locally made pistol
✔️ Six Dane guns
✔️ Three motorcycles
