Authorities have arrested no fewer than six suspects linked to the brutal killing of two police officers in Kolere village, Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Operations, Yobe State Police Command, Abdu Abubakar Ozo, confirmed the arrests while addressing journalists after a routine State Security Council meeting chaired by Deputy Governor Idi Barde Guban.

According to DCP Ozo, the suspects are currently in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as investigations continue. He further stated that security operatives have been deployed to track down additional individuals involved in the heinous crime.

Earlier this year, DSP Ali Pindar and DSP Jantuku Philibus were tragically killed by armed assailants while attempting to apprehend suspected gang members in the Kolere community.

Authorities remain committed to bringing all perpetrators to justice, ensuring the safety and security of Yobe State residents.
