Atletico Madrid captain, Koke, has broken his silence on the possibility of the club signing Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Ronaldo has already made his feelings clear to Manchester United that he wished to leave Old Trafford this summer should a'reasonable’ offer come in for his services.

The Portugal captain also missed Manchester United’s pre-season tours in Thailand and Australia due to "family reasons".

The 37-year-old returned to Carrington on Tuesday for talks with Man United board member and manager Erik ten Hag about his future, and he even watched on as the Red Devils beat Wrexham 4-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

Meanwhile, speculation linking Ronaldo with other clubs has continued, with Atletico Madrid being the latest to be thinking about a move.

Such speculation has caused fury among the Atletico fanbase, with banners reading "CR7 not welcome" being spotted at their pre-season game against Numancia on Wednesday.

When asked for his thoughts on Ronaldo joining Atletico Madrid, Koke appeared to snub the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, insisting that he trusted the club’s current strikers.

Koke told Directo Gol: “There is no talk of Cristiano Ronaldo in the dressing room." My teammates are great players.

“We have strikers from Argentina, Brazil, some from Portugal, France, and Spain. They are great players who can do great things.

“I trust them all.”
