Everton have set their sights on Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi as the January transfer deadline nears.

Awoniyi has struggled for regular minutes so far this season.

The 27-year-old is behind New Zealand international Chris Wood in the pecking order.

Though the Nigerian has expressed his desire to stay at Forest, speculation surrounding his future has persisted.

West Ham United have already been credited with an interest in Awoniyi, and now Everton are said to be keen.

The Toffees are targeting a potential late swoop for the player.

He has scored one goal in 20 league appearances for Forest this season.
