In response to the recent Monday morning raid by unknown gunmen in Aba, the Abia State Government has provided clarity, confirming that no security agents were harmed during the incident.

During a press conference in Umuahia following the State Executive Council meeting, Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, detailed the events. He reported that hoodlums in three vehicles attacked the commercial city of Aba but were swiftly engaged by security agents. The confrontation resulted in the death of one assailant and the destruction of a vehicle, while another was abandoned and recovered. The remaining attackers fled in their third vehicle, sustaining bullet wounds.

Prince Okey Kanu attributed the attacks to disgruntled individuals unhappy with the progress made under Governor Alex Otti's administration. He emphasized the government's zero tolerance for criminal activities and reiterated the Governor's directive to ensure that perpetrators are apprehended and that no part of Abia State becomes a haven for criminals.

The Abia State Government remains committed to maintaining security and supporting the development efforts led by Governor Otti.
