In a somber turn of events, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State is mourning the loss of its Chairman, Paul Omotoso.

The Imesi-Ekiti native and accomplished lawyer reportedly succumbed to a brief illness in the early hours of Wednesday, as confirmed by his grieving family members.

Despite actively participating in various political meetings earlier in the week, Omotoso began experiencing health issues on Tuesday. Concerns escalated, prompting his immediate transfer to a government hospital in the state capital. Unfortunately, the resilient politician couldn't overcome the health challenges and passed away.

This tragic news comes as a shock to many, considering Omotoso's recent involvement in political engagements just days before his untimely demise. The late APC Chairman's dedication to his political duties was evident, making his sudden passing all the more poignant.

It is worth noting that Omotoso had previously faced adversity when he was kidnapped by gunmen in July 2023. After enduring five days in their captivity, he was eventually released. The incident added a layer of complexity to his role as a political leader but did not deter him from continuing his service to the party.

Regrettably, Omotoso's death follows closely on the heels of another political figure's passing. Fatai Adams, the Chairman of the Ondo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), left this world in mid-February, further emphasizing the fragility of life in the political arena.

As the Ekiti State APC mourns the loss of a dedicated leader, the political landscape reflects the unpredictable and challenging nature of public service. The legacy of Paul Omotoso will undoubtedly endure, leaving a void in the hearts of those who worked alongside him in the pursuit of political goals.
