According to the suspect, he received a call from one Anayo Moses,a 200 level of political science department who happens to be the mastermind of the operation, informing him that they will go for an operation at Christ the sure foundation lodge, next level junction, Ifite to the room of one of his coursemate. He quickly called Ikechukwu who is also one of them to inform him of the operation.

He further stated that the room which they went to rob belongs to one Lawrence, a course mate to Anayo,and according to him,one of the major reason they went to the lodge was because Lawrence's room was well furnished and most of the occupants of the lodge are on vacation which will make their operation very easy.

Ifeanyi also noted that when they got to the lodge, Anayo cut through the kitchen buglary and went in to bring out the electronics quietly while he and Ikechukwu stayed out to watch and after the operation, they took away the gas cooker, plasma television, home theatre which they to an uncompleted building. He said while they were still planning on their next move, they heard voices from outside the building and before he realised what was happening, his partners had fled from the scene into the bush leaving only him there to the hands of the angry mobs.

Speaking to our correspondents, one of the residents of the lodge, Ikechukwu Benz said the robbery incident in the street has become so rampant and worrisome as this was the third lodge being robbed in a week on the same street. He went on to say that he was awoken by the noise of people shouting in the early hours of the morning, and when he rushed down he met the thief lying on the ground as the the residents were already beating him.

Contributing, a shop owner on the street and caretaker of Vimason lodge named "Ala owerri" said he was sleeping when he heard noise behind his house. he quickly put on a top and rushed out with his cutlass having quietly alerted other boys in his lodge to the uncompleted building where they met the boys arranging their loots.

He further stated that after his goat and generator was stolen from his house, he has been on alert likewise other residents in the street as the rate of the robbery on the street is becoming increasingly worrisome addinng that as the caretaker of his lodge, he is directly responsible to the wellbeing of every occupants of the lodge.

After the interrogations and beatings, the school anti-cult and security squad was called upon and the suspect was thus taken round the street for people to see with a tire on his neck before being taken to the security office for further questioning.
