Two Nigerian TikTokers, Ahmad Isa and Maryam Musa have been sentenced to prison for posting vulgar videos on the social media.

Ahmad Isa and Maryam Musa were arrested by the Kano State’s censorship board for violating religious and moral sensitivities of the state.

They were arraigned before a Kano Magistrate court by the state’s counsel, Barr. Garzali Maigari, for criminal conspiracy, and posting of illicit contents

The TikTokers were sentenced to one year imprisonment each with an option of N100,000 fine after they pleaded guilty to the charges.

The magistrate, Hadiza Muhammad Hassan, also warned them to be of good behaviour.

This isn’t the first time TikTokers have faced legal issues in Kano. DAILY POST recalls that in February 2024, the Kano Hisbah Board arrested Murja Kunya and remanded her in prison over allegations that she was involved in immoral acts.

In June 2024, another popular TikToker, G-Fresh al-Amin was arrested for allegedly making inappropriate remarks online.
