The petition filed by Abba Ganduje, the son of former governor Abdullahi Ganduje, was dismissed by the elections petition tribunal in Kano for lack of merit and he was ordered to pay N200,000 to each of the respondents, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in addition to other costs.
The court rejected the petition filed by Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) contesting Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe of the NNPP's victory in the March 25, 2023, House of Representatives election in Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa/Tofa.
The three-judge panel dismissed the petition for lack of merit.
The tribunal averred that the petitioner failed to present sufficient evidence to support the allegation.
