The former Governor of Rivers State and ex-minister of transportation, Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi has said Nigerians would rather die than act to salvage the social and economic situation of the country.

He made this known when he was featured in a public lecture during the week.

He said "Nigerians don't react to anything. Has any politician told you he's not a thief? Has any politician told you he went to the University? Nigerians know and still vote for them, so what's your problem? Tell me, what's your problem?"

"You can line up 10 Nigerians and kill them and nothing will happen."

"Instead of finding solutions to their problems, they (Nigerians) are committing suicide. I am praying for you all to continue to commit suicide. "
