In a devastating turn of events, Pastor David Musa, a clergyman affiliated with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), has been brutally killed by his abductors in Kogi State.

The heartbreaking news was shared on the church's social media platform, revealing that Pastor Musa was murdered on Tuesday night after his family paid a ransom of one million naira to the gunmen.

The announcement, made on Wednesday morning, conveyed the sorrowful message: "It is with a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of God, I write to inform you that the abductors of our brother, Pastor Musa David, have killed him after collecting a ransom of one million naira last night. Let our prayers be with the family, the Church, and the DCC in this trying moment."

The abduction of Pastor David Musa was first reported on Saturday, November 11, during the heightened tension of the Kogi State governorship election. He was taken near the Obajana area, and the subsequent tragic outcome has left his congregation and the state in a state of shock.

Pastor David Musa, formerly in charge of ECWA Bishara, Ajaokuta, had served the church faithfully. His untimely death has not only sent waves of grief through his congregation but has also intensified concerns about the security situation in Kogi State.

The Lokoja/Obajana/Kabba Road, where the abduction took place, has become increasingly unsafe in recent times. Incidents of gunmen operating along the road, abducting individuals, and leading to tragic outcomes have become alarmingly frequent.

This tragic incident follows a pattern of insecurity along the Lokoja/Obajana/Kabba Road. In September, an army Major and 26 others were abducted near Kabba town. While some managed to secure their freedom after a week in captivity, the fate of others remains unknown.

The gruesome killing of Pastor David Musa underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures in the region. As the community mourns the loss of a dedicated clergyman, the broader issue of insecurity in Kogi State remains a pressing concern that demands immediate attention and effective intervention.Tragic Demise: ECWA Pastor David Musa Abducted and Killed in Kogi State
