Just less than a week before the new Premier League Season kick start, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has received some negative news concerning their star player, Gabriel Jesus who is set to miss the start of the new season.



The 26-year-old was left out of the team for Arsenal's Emirates Cup victory over Monaco on Wednesday, and after the game, Arteta admitted the injury was a big blow.

Arteta reveals Gabriel Jesus injury status

“Unfortunately he had a little procedure this morning,” Arteta said.

“He had some discomfort in his knee that has been causing some issues and he had to go and resolve it. It’s not something major but he is going to be out for a few weeks I think.”

Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City last season.
