Chelsea legend Glenn Hoddle has admitted that the Blues are not the same without one defender, Thiago Silva.
Silva faced a lengthy injury layoff after he was forced off in the first half of Chelsea's 2-0 Premier League defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.
Chelsea are yet to know the extent of Silva’s injury; however, manager Graham Potter has covering options with Kalidou Koulibaly, Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, and Wesley Fofana all available.
But Hoddle is wary of Chelsea, who are now without a win in six matches without Silva at the heart of their defense.
“They lack that punch in and around the 18-yard box,” Hoddle told Premier League Productions after the game.
“They started the game okay; for the first 10 to 15 minutes, they came out and were the better team."
“When their elder statesman, Thiago Silva, goes off, to me, they don’t look like the same team without him.”
