Chelsea have revealed which shirt number defender Trevoh Chalobah will wear following his return from loan at Crystal Palace.
Chalobah was deemed surplus to requirements last summer and was not part of manager Enzo Maresca’s plans for this season.
As a result, Chelsea then loaned him out to Crystal Palace for the 2024/25 campaign.
However, the Blues recalled him from Palace on Wednesday as Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are currently sidelined with injury.
Chalobah had worn the number 14 shirt during his time with Chelsea.
He took the number after breaking through when Thomas Tuchel was manager at Stamford Bridge.
But with Joao Felix arriving last summer, the Portugal international took the number 14 for himself.
However, Chalobah will now wear the No.23 shirt at Chelsea.
The defender, who has made 80 appearances for the Blues, will be part of Maresca’s first-team squad.
