Chelsea have now turned their attention to Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim to determine who becomes the Blues’ new head coach.
The 38-year-old who guided Sporting Lisbon to the Portuguese league and cup double in his first season at the club has been on the Blues’ shortlist, and they have now spoken to him.
The Portuguese have a release clause of around €10 million (£8.7 million) in his current deal with the Portuguese top side, and Todd Boehly and Co. would have to pay that fee to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Amorim is now on the list of many managers who have been linked with the Stamford Bridge job after the sacking of Graham Potter a couple of weeks ago.
The Guardian UK reports that Chelsea have now held talks with at least four potential managers.
Amorim spoke openly about his future earlier this month and suggested that he wanted to stay in Portugal with Sporting, despite links to the Blues.
