Destiny Udogie, an Udinese star, has stated that he would rather play for Italy than Nigeria.

According to the 19-year-old, he has a strong affinity for Italian football and would relish the opportunity to play for the Azzurris.

Udogie, who was born in Italy but is of Nigerian origin, is currently on loan from Hellas Verona.

I was born in Italy, so I feel more Italian. I grew up playing with the young players in Italy, so I want to continue with them.
I just have to do my best in every game so I can show him [Roberto Mancini] my qualities and it is a big ambition I hope to be able to achieve,” Udogie told The Italian Football Podcast, when asked where his future lies between Italy and Nigeria.
